1. @RequestParam을 생략하는 경우

// public String main2 (@RequestParam(name="year", required=false) String year) 
public String main2 (String year)

위의 두 문장은 같은 문장이며, @RequestParam은 생략 가능하다. required는 필수 여부 나타내고 위와 같은 경우에는 필수입력이 false이므로, year 값을 입력해주지 않아도 된다.

 

사용자가 주소를 입력할 때의 예시는 다음과 같다.

//  http://localhost/ch2/requestParam2   --->> year = null
//  http://localhost/ch2/requestParam2?year   -->> year = "" (빈 문자열)

2. @RequestParam을 생략하지 않는 경우

// public String main3(@RequestParam(name="year", required=true) String year)
public String main3(@RequestParam String year)

다음과 같이 생략하지 않고 앞에 적어주었다면, year의 값을 필수적으로 입력해주어야 한다.

 

클라이언트가 입력하지 않으면 다음과 같이 Error가 발생한다.

//  http://localhost/ch2/requestParam3   --->> year = null (400Error, required가 true이므로)
//  http://localhost/ch2/requestParam3?year   -->> year = "" (빈 문자열)

따라서 필수적으로 값을 입력받아야 하는 경우는 생략하지 않는다.

3. 그 외 에러가 발생하는 경우

@RequestMapping("/requestParam8") 
	public String main8(@RequestParam(required=false) int year) {   
	//	http://localhost/ch2/requestParam8        ---->> 500 java.lang.IllegalStateException
	//	http://localhost/ch2/requestParam8?year   ---->> 400 Bad Request
		System.out.printf("[%s]year=[%s]%n", new Date(), year);
		return "yoil";
	}

 

필수입력이 아닐 때도 고려해야 할 부분이 있다. 

다음과 같은 경우는 필수 입력이 아니지만, year를 int 값으로 입력 받다 보니 아무것도 입력하지 않으면 year = null이 되면서 int 값으로 변환할 수 없기 때문에 서버 에러인 500 Error가 발생한다. 또한 year까지만 입력하고 숫자를 입력하지 않으면 이 또한 빈 문자열로 인식하기 때문에 int 형으로 변환할 수 없다. (400 Error)

 

따라서, 필수입력이 아닐 때에는 다음과 같이 기본값을 입력해 처리한다.

	public String main11(@RequestParam(required=false, defaultValue="1") int year) {   
//		http://localhost/ch2/requestParam11        ---->> year=1   
//		http://localhost/ch2/requestParam11?year   ---->> year=1
